Aeropress

The Aeropress is the most versatile, travel-friendly brewer in existence.

The Aeropress turns a syringe into a coffee brewer. Using suction to fight gravity and immersion brewing, the Aeropress creates some delicious coffee. Although there are many ways to brew with an Aeropress, I will focus on the standard (non-inverted) method in this guide. Reach out to Ty if you’d like to learn more ways to brew on an Aeropress!

This is how I brew using my Aeropress for a delicious cup:

Coffee in: 12 grams, Water in: 200 grams

Brew temp: 200F, Brew time: 2 minutes, Grind setting: Medium fine

Grind coffee and heat up water

Preheat/prewet filter and insert the filter cap

Set Aeropress body cap-down on top of vessel of choice

Pour in ground coffee, followed by the hot water (ensure all grounds are evenly soaked)

Insert plunger tip into body. This will use suction to stop gravity from pulling the liquid out the bottom of the brewer.

Allow the brew to sit for 2 minutes

Swirl the entire brewer to allow grounds to fall to bottom.

Once grounds have fallen, slowly plunge the brew all the way

Enjoy!
